The specification stage forms the basis of implementation and that’s why no interpretation freedom should be allowed. The aim is to document and fix conceptual and graphic design. After this, the project can be passed on to the implementation phase.

In this way, the risk of implementing faulty requirements is minimised and the efficiency of the development is increased.

During specification, the surface is formally described on the one hand and measured down to the exact pixel and on the other hand, the interactive processes defined in such a way so that all user cases are taken into consideration. In addition to this, the results of the previously applied methods, e.g. the evaluation results or the prototype are directly fed into the specification. The client receives comprehensive documentation which leaves no question unanswered.

The Interaction Style Guide defines the interactive processes of the product. Every step is closely scrutinised and the correct use of special cases is specified. The aim is to achieve an interaction that conforms to expectations and which has a degree of error tolerance.
